This week we are at 9&10 News talking about tree and shrub transplants.
One of the key tips we have is to be sure you are adding your Tree’nShrub Mix to not only the hole you are digging, but also to the soil that will eventually fall within the dripline of the tree or shrub. Northern Michigan is notoriously sandy. If you don’t add nutrients to the sandy soil the tree will eventually grow into, the roots will opt to stay in the nutrient-rich soil, eventually causing the tree or shrub to become root bound.
