You’ll Need:

  • Straw Bale(s)
  • Safe Green Lawn Granulated Fertilizer 10-0-4-.5%Ca
  • Healthy Garden Granulated Fertilizer 7-6-5-5%Ca
  • VeggieDoo 301 Potting Soil
  • Vegetables Ready for Transplanting
  • Liquid VeggieBlaster 8-1-8

Step 1

Place straw bale in a sunny spot (8 hours of sunlight) and close to a water source.

Step 2

Soak the bale until water runs through it.  Sprinkle 1 cup of Safe Green Lawn over the bale. Every other day add the same amount of Safe Green Lawn and on the opposite day soak the bale with water. Continue for one full week.

Step 3/Week 2

Repeat the steps of week one, reducing the Safe Green Lawn to half a cup. At the end of the week sprinkle 2 cups of Healthy Garden on the bale.

Step 4/Week 3

Make a hole in the straw bale and fill with VeggieDoo 301. Plant your established plants.

One bale will typically hold 3 dwarf-size tomato plants.  When plants are ready to bloom use Liquid VeggieBlaster every 7-14 days. Spray the bale in a crisscross pattern for only 2-5 seconds.

Step 5

Enjoy your garden, with no need to weed!
